WORKERS COMPENSATION / EMPLOYERS LIABILITY 
WC is governed entirely by statute. Its purpose is to pay whatever benefits prescribed by applicable statute. EL protects employers from suits brought by injured employees to recover damages separate and distinct from workers compensation claims. WC deals with liability imposed by statute and EL deals with common-law liabilities subject to limitations.
